Retro sketches 7

I recently found this blog, and loved the idea, this week's sketch is really pretty, so I gave it a try, check it out at Retro Sketches.

Here is my take on the sketch, I just changed the panel to the other side.

Also this "kind" of qualifies for CAS-ual Fridays Challenge 48, I used TWO sets of opposite colors, aqua and orange, and red and green. So I think I'll sneak in there too. because I loved that challenge!!

The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays, to use opposite color in the color wheel. Real challenge, find the darn color wheel in the mess that I call "my craft space". Since that was not possible, I went to trusty ol' google and googled away.  Here  is the result:

CR84Fn Color Challenge 52

I liked this week's CR84FN color challenge, the colors are so soft and subtle, and the DT samples are beyond gorgeous, so I felt compelled to play. I tried to keep it simple, here is what I came up with:

Chevron!

Here is the results of my playing with BB Chevron, oh my! I so love this set! I hadn't had a chance to play with, and I am trying to give some deserved love to my "collection" ;)
I wanted bright and bold, and I do like the results! I really like all those big sentiments, they make it so much easier!

Backgrounds..

I have been enjoying the stamped backgrounds that so many are making now, they look so beautiful. look at this one by Dana, spectacular! Or this one, made with sentiments by the very talented Ingrid! or this gorgeous invitations by Nichole Heady! So I gave it a try, this is before I got my new papertrey ink, and I have to say they do make a difference, they are very vibrant! For this card I used memento and versamark inks to match Ocean Tides, Harvest Gold and Aqua mist, and a gray ink by studio g for little details and the sentiment.

Blog hop inspired...

I tried to make a card for PTI blog hop, but I really couldn't channel my "inner yellow" So this is what I ended up with. I gotta say I love that circle background set !! Gotta play more with them!

I tried something new to me, I use picasa to store and manage my pictures and I just recently  heard about Picnik, I just did the auto correction; it just looked brighter, but somehow the picture on the blog has some blurry spots! I have to figure out what I did wrong!!

Blog hop for Janelle

One of the most beautiful and fulfilling things about the "crafting world" is the people you get to "meet". Some Valentines!

Happy Valentine's day!
Such a nice day to remind the ones that make our lives special that they are loved and cherished!
I didn't have time to take pics of all my Valentine's but I have the one for my two older kiddos! (my 2 y.o. is not yet ready to be the recipient of a card, as she is a "paper gourmet" :) )
First the one for my darling daughter, she is 11 years old, and truly amazing, every single day I am surprised that that amazing human being came out of me! She is a kind, loving, caring, fashiony, opera lover, writer wannabe incredible little girl! I love her to pieces, God  certainly knew what He was doing,  when He send her to be my first, it just made me want a lot more kiddos!

Simple and to point!

Then comes my 5 y.o. boy; oh boy, that is a boy!, rocker, magician, musician who writes songs for "girls with yellow hair" sweet as can be, every single day amazes me with his imagination, his strength, how loving he is with his sisters. An incredible boy, God has put some obstacles in his way, but that has only made him show what he is really made of! A fighter that's my guy! A real hero!

He is a big fan of Krypto and Underdog, and this darling doggy kind of resembles them!

The one for my husband, is on his lunch bag, I just finished it last night and there was not enough light to take a good picture of it. When he comes back home I will try and take a good pic of it to show it to you!!

Little musical birdie..

I have been having fun with my new PTI goodies, this little cutie beg to be die cutted in felt! I have seen so many little birdies in felt lately that I had to try it!
The new musical background is just great! I am in love, now I NEED the impression plate too!
I used one of the Clean Simple Sketches, #123, great inspiration!

Moxie Fab-Bright and Bold

I finally got PTI's Dot Spot stamp set and I was itching to  try it when I found this color combo at the Moxie Fab blog and that was just the perfect inspiration for my new set!

Good morning glories...

I loved this set since I saw it, the flowers are gorgeous, and the sentiments are  awesome!! Since I am not good at coloring I decided to stamp the image in PP, I kind of liked it!
Some more of that gorgeous Life Stories paper b MME and I got a very quick card!

I am trapped!

Now that I can make a bow, I am looking at my ribbon stash with a newfound love, of course I have ribbon. I craft, therefore I have ribbon, and bunches and bunches of it, mostly acquired during the scrapbooking frenzy of 2000 and something when we used to put ribbon with staples in every single LO, so ribbon is here, neglected, unloved, but here. But now I am giving him (it is a him, our relationship proves it) a second chance, let's see how it goes. I found this little spool, and decided to start with him. this is the result, I am happy to let you know that no ribbon was damaged in the making of this bow and I am happy with the results!!

I love this paper, I went to Michaels to use one the the gift cards I got for turning 40, to get the mythical ATG gun, and saw this lonely pad of  PP is called Life Stories from MME and is on kraft!!! How did I missed that one?? So I inmediatly put it to good use, or at least that's what I hope!!

Of bows and ribbon.....

So I am not a big ribbon user, I confess to that. I really like look to stamping/scrapbooking like my relax time, but making bows is not relaxing for me, or at least it wasn't. I watched this video from Dawn McVey, which really helped me with "making" part and then I bought Papertrey Ink Twill, and WOW what a match!!
So here is the first card I made using my new learned skills and my new twill.....

Un nuevo reto...

This week was my turn to post a Challenge in Papertrey Chicks, it had to be a layout. It was very hard, but finally I was able to make one in the computer, it is not real good, but I will learn with time. For my layout I made 2 cards, the one in PTI Chicks was the second, this was the first one, I liked the second better, but it came from this one, so I though I share how it developed!!

WOW...

Seis dias seguidos de postear, unico para mi, y luego para cerrar con broche de oro la semana, una de mis  tarjetas fue escogida para el reto del viernes de Cards Blog!!!!  Una semana perfecta!
 Y para terminarla bien aca tengo otra tarjeta, esta es usando mi nuevo set de PTI, Take Three: Fall, me gusto mucho el set, pero me costo trabajo hacer esta tarjeta, nada se me ocurria, hasta que al fin salio esta.

Y como decia un conocido mexicano...aun hay mas

Yo le sigo con las florecitas, porque una vez que le pierde una el miedo a algo, se lanza, no?
 Asi que aqui esta otra tarjeta con YOF esta vez daffodils (que en espanol se llaman Narcisos, segun yo) y una vez mas tire todo por la borda, con fieltro, mecatito, punches...en fin lo que pude meterle le meti, je. Esta combinacion de aqua con rojo me gusta, me gusta un buen!

Mas flores..

Finalmente me decidi a adquirir algunos set de "Year of Flowers" de PTI, la verdad me intimidaban un poco por aquello de colorearlos, pero no siempre tiene una que colorearlos, no creen?
Esta tarjeta la hice basada en una de Betsy Veldman, que fue la que finalmente me hizo comprar los sets, se vei tan linda!! En cuanto encuentre el post se los comparto!
Yo la tome como inspiracion y esto es lo que me salio:

Con perlitas, liston y toda la cosa, definitivamente fuera de mi area de comfort, pero la verdad estoy muy contenta con el resultado final!

En el que los jugos creativos se hacen mas bolas que nada...JAI#32

Hace un buen ya que me di un tiempo para hacer ninguna manualidad, eso sin contar los regalos de los maestros de regreso a clase, que siempre los estoy terminando justo antes de llevar a los chicos a la escuela y por lo tanto no existe prueba fotografica de ellos!!!; en fin que cuando regresamos de Mexico estaba yo lista para hacer mi pedido de PTI y miren que habia nuevas cosas, y muy lindas, aunque tambien compre algunas ya de hace algunos meses! Pero por fin me decidi a comprar  algunos sets de Year of Flowers, me habia detenido el hecho de que se necesita colorear mucho y yo no soy nada buena en eso, pero el de este mes fue gladiolas, y las gladiolas me encantan asi que decidi lanzarme a la aventura!! Hice trampa, lo acepto, lo estampe sobre un papel rosado y luego nadamas lo sombree con los marcadores copics, pero se ve mas o menos no??? Y como le agregue "materiales", hemp y glitter, pues la pondre en el JAI#32.
Since I did add a bit of "material" (that being the hemp and glitter) and that is totally new for me I decided to submit it to JAI#32!!!

PTI June Blog Hop

This month's blog hop is about "color combination" There are a lot of combos I really like, PTI colors are just yummy, but for today I decided on Pure Poppy, Spring Rain and Summer Sunrise. I wanted to keep it simple and use my new "Tea for Two additions" So I die cut the teacup and then stamped with versamark and clear embossed it. I ran a strip of white with the canvas impression plate and added the sentiment from hero arts.
I am really looking forward to see everyone's project!

Y continuamos...

Aca esta la segunda tarjeta que hice con las etiquetas que me quedaron!!

Con esta tuve un buen de dificultades para alinear la estampa, al final quedo medio chueca, pero ya me estaba desesperando y no se trata de eso, verdad??
He tenido un poco mas de tiempo ahora que los horarios no son tan estrictos debido al verano, y he dado vueltas por los blogs de todas las talentosas damas y caballero, del foro de PTI y me ha ayudado muchisimo!! Ya me aviento mas y total si salen bien o salen mal, las hice con carino y eso es lo que cuenta!!!
