Retro sketches 7

I recently found this blog, and loved the idea, this week's sketch is really pretty, so I gave it a try, check it out at Retro Sketches.

Here is my take on the sketch, I just changed the panel to the other side.

Also this "kind" of qualifies for CAS-ual Fridays Challenge 48, I used TWO sets of opposite colors, aqua and orange, and red and green. So I think I'll sneak in there too. because I loved that challenge!!

Moxie Fab-Bright and Bold

I finally got PTI's Dot Spot stamp set and I was itching to  try it when I found this color combo at the Moxie Fab blog and that was just the perfect inspiration for my new set!

Here is my card, I wanted to keep it very simple and with lots of white space to show the pretty dots!!

Un nuevo reto...

This week was my turn to post a Challenge in Papertrey Chicks, it had to be a layout. It was very hard, but finally I was able to make one in the computer, it is not real good, but I will learn with time. For my layout I made 2 cards, the one in PTI Chicks was the second, this was the first one, I liked the second better, but it came from this one, so I though I share how it developed!!

Mas flores..

Finalmente me decidi a adquirir algunos set de "Year of Flowers" de PTI, la verdad me intimidaban un poco por aquello de colorearlos, pero no siempre tiene una que colorearlos, no creen?
Esta tarjeta la hice basada en una de Betsy Veldman, que fue la que finalmente me hizo comprar los sets, se vei tan linda!! En cuanto encuentre el post se los comparto!
Yo la tome como inspiracion y esto es lo que me salio:

Con perlitas, liston y toda la cosa, definitivamente fuera de mi area de comfort, pero la verdad estoy muy contenta con el resultado final!

One layer card???

Last week Susan at Simplicity issued a challenge like every Wednesday, a one layer card, the twist that week was the use of a flourish, I thought, yeah right I can do that, right???
Well, not really, no. I am doomed to stamp askew, there is no freaking way that I can achieve that!! I did try, like many, many times. Many. When suddenly I decided I really had no interest in putting a $60.00 order just to get more white PTI paper, so had to stop. My stamping soul was hurting, really, I was so pleased with my idea, it was going to be a hell of a card, I was sure (yeah, right!) so I left the pieces of my stamping soul and PTI budget laying there for me to see, I went to a better place: right in front of the t.v. with my one year old in the lap, eating m&m's and watching The West Wing, sweet!! Suddenly I send the girl to the floor, kindly of course, and had an illuminating moment: I can still use the image, right??? Oh yeah, "the most amazing card ever" was saved!!!!!!! So I went and trimmed.....and trimmed, and trimmed, and trimmed; and I learned a couple of things: I can't cut straight either, no way, right angles are an illusion, m&m's make everything better, except a one year old tummy, it is better to make a "not straight card" than to change the resulting diaper of m&m's . Who knew that making cards could make your life so "zen" or "un-zen"
So I went ahead and made the card anyways, because it cost me a whole lot of paper, zen thought, and a mildly case of diarrhea. Please be kind. :)

CWC008 Dia del Padre!

Hoy es Dia del Padre, mis nenes me pidieron una tarjeta especial para Papi, una "como un super heroe" dijo mi gordo de 5 a*os,  porque Papi es un heroe en esta casa, y me acorde de un sello que me llamo mucho la atencion en la revista de go to sketches, inspirada en esa tarjeta hice esta, como no encuentro la revista por ningun lado no puedo poner quien hizo la tarjeta, pero es la misma estampa y el mismo layout, lo cambie para que se viera un poco mas "grafico" y pareciera como un comic. Y como es una tarjeta muy sencilla pero con un poco de punch la meti al reto de esta semana de CAS tastic Challenge!

CWC007 Otra mas!

Esta tarjeta la hice para mi nena, que ya tiene 10 a*os!! Crecen tan rapido! Cuando vi estos sellos de Sutdio g me recorde de una tarjeta que vi en una revista, creo que fue Cards, la tarjeta estaba divina, pero no me acorde muy bien de los detalles, solo hojee la revista en Archiver's, estan muy caritas!! Pero me quedo la inspiracion y esta tarjeta fue el resultado. Y va perfecto con el reto de CAS tastic challenge, espero que no les importe que tenga dos tarjetas!

CWC007 Quien tiene el boton?? O en mi caso, los botones

Despues de semanas de preparacion finalmente termine con mi ultimo proyecto para la associacion de padres de familia de la escuela de mi nena, una venta de garage, que fue un trabajo gigantesco, no tuve tiempo ni de respirar menos aun de hacer tarjetas. Pero ya termine! Asi que hoy me dio tiempo  en la manana, mientras mi nena dormia la siesta y la mayor veia la tele un rato de hacer una tarjetica!! He visto muchas similares por todos lados en la internet, y esta es la mia:

Que tal? Yo estoy muy contenta con el resultado, me parece muy alegre!! Utilice botones para "sostener" la cuerda de donde cuelgan los banderines, para estar de acuerdo con el nuevo reto de CAS tastic challenges !

CWC005 A touch of green

Encontre este nuevo blog (nuevo para mi al menos!CAS tastic Wednesday Challenge En el que nos dan un nuevo reto cada Miercoles para hacer una tarjeta CAS (Sencilla y Limpia) esta semana el reto es usar un toque del color verde! Ahi mismo te dan las guias para lo que es una tarjeta CAS, para mi es dificil encontrar el balance con todo el espacio blanco, en un verdadero reto. Pero el verde es uno de mis colores preferidos y desde el countdown de PTI que vi esta tarjeta  y esta otra en el blog de Nichole tenia ganas de hacer algo similar, y este es el resultado:

                                                                      

Utilize el papel de PTI en blanco, para la segunda capa utilize el Woodgrain Impression plate, y para la flor los troqueles de los globos aerostaticos y luego los pase por my cuttlebug con el canvas impression plate, la frase es de Up, up and Away y el boton es de basic gray!

Reto Latino # 49

Hace un buen que tengo ganas de participar en el Reto Latino, pero el tiempo se me va como agua! Esta semana tiene un sketch  muy bonito con 3 colores que me encantaron, asi que puse manos a la obra y aqui esta mi tarjeta para el reto!!

April PTI Blog Hop

Here is my entry for this month's blog hop at PTI, the challenge was to use tissue paper,, and I remembered that when I first saw those cute tissue scalloped borders all over the  blogs that they looked like curtains! And since I had to use chair ished to save the world, (at  least  mine!) it  all came together very happily. I still need to play with the idea, (and take better indoor pictures) but I like the results. I used aqua mist and raspberry fizz, a bit of summer sunrise and spring rain, I stamped everything with memento.Thanks for looking

Una mas......

Since I got my new argyle from PTI I thought I should make one more card for the Papertrey Chicks Challenge 0! I love the argyle and I am so glad I decided just last minute to add the Enjoy the ride to my cart, even if I totally forgot to add Dotty and the frames dies!! Well there is ALWAYS a next order with PTI I have learned that!!

 So here is my second card all PTI for the challenge, since I got my Go to Sketches magazine I had to "justify it" because I have decided that everything in the world is o.k. if I use the things I buy at least ONCE! SO this is my latest PTI order and one of the sketches in the magazine!

The next card is for the Clean & Simple FTL#87 that I just loved! Thanks for the inspiration!!

 And the last one, one more go to sketch, unfortunately it got my 5 y.o. attention, a nice compliment indeed if it weren't for his "mango hands"!! But I had it and I took a picture of her, because in my opinion she deserved it and was an unfortunate victim of love...and mango!

So that was all for last night, now up to PTI blog hop tomorrow!! I am really looking forward to see everyone's creations! It is so much fun to see the same stamps in sooo many different ways!!

Besides I am almost done using all of the items from my last PTI order, I think I only have chair ished to go!!!

Papertrey Chick Challenge

Here is my entry for the Papertrey Chicks challenge. I found this argyle stamp yesterday at Joann, it's part of a set by Fiskars, I think is for graduates, it's an 8x8 set and it was $1.97 and has many lovely stamps, and this argyle little one, will do until I get my PTI order!!
Now for the card. I used smokey shadow for the base, for the spring blue I used one of my embossing folders, it think it's from cuttlebug, the flower is stamped in hibiscus burst and then I used dazzle versamark to stamp the argyle just like in the smokey shadow strip. The sentiment is from delightful dahlia. I feel it needs leaves, or something to make company to my lonely flower, but I wanted to adhere to the colors in the challenge.

Esta es mi tarjeta para el reto de Papertrey Chicks. Encontre esta estampa con el motivo de argyle en Joann, es parte de un grupo de la marca Fiskars, creo que el para graduados, el set es de 8x8 y me costo $1.97 y tiene muchos sellos muy bonito, y el argyle es un buen repuesto hasta que llegue mi orden de PTI!!

Durante la siesta..

Como dije, de regreso y con ganas! Ayer en la noche empeze algunas tarjetas para tener listas y terminarlas mientras la gorda duerme la siesta, y justo a tiempo!! La primera la hice para un reto de un nuevo sitio para mi,
 Papertrey Pals, este es el Reto no. 5 y pide que se haga una tarjeta de una sola dimension y con solo un adorno.
Con mis pocas estampas de PTI este fue mi resultado:

 

Utilice "distressed stripes para hacer el marco, y luego con una "glue pad" estampe la dahlia mas grande de "delightful dahlia" y la cubri con brillantina naranja de doodlebug y la frase es de "delightful dahlia" tambien.

With my limited PTI supplies this is what I came up with. I used distressed stripes for the frame, and the big flower of delightful dahlias, I stamped with a glue pad and cover it with orange glitter from doodlebug, the sentiment is from the delightful dahlia set as well. I guess the glitter is my embellishment. 

La segunda es para Color Q challenge 25 aunque ya era tarde para entrar, ya la habia hecho y aqui esta!

Me gustaron los colores, aunque fueron dificiles he aqui mi tarjeta:

 

Hice lo mismo, estampe la flor de "delightful dahlia" con pegamento y la cubri con brillantina de color verde, tambien de doodlebug, la base es chocolate chip de SU, la segunda capa es lemon tartar de PTI y la estampe con "polka dots basic I" en blanco, el turquesa es "hawaiian shores" de PTI y el la frase la estampe en "certainly celery" de SU. Gracias!

I did the same treatment with this card, I stamped the bigger flower in the delightful dahlia set, with a glue pad, I covered with a soft green, is stamped in PTI hawaiian shores, the base is SU chocolate chip, and the second layer is PTI lemon tartar with polka dots basic in white.Thanks!

Dos retos mas, depues de un largo rato..

Despues de un periodo de "descanso" obligado, por la labores hogarenas, ya estoy de nuevo por aca,  y con mas ganas. Durante ese tiempo recibi mi segunda orden de una compania nueva para mi: Papertrey Ink. Wow estoy completamente embelesada por sus productos, una calidad excelente y los colores son vibrantes, me encanto, ya estoy pensando en que ordenar de nuevo!!
Hice dos tarjetas con estos productos, la primera para el reto de 365 cards con este sketch:

 Aqui esta mi tarjeta,

Utilize los sets Beautiful Bloom II, distressed stripes y la frase es de Delightful Dahlia, los colores son raspberry fizz y aqua mist.Aca hay unos detallitos de la tarjeta:

Una vez que termine y puse la foto, me di cuenta de que aun tengo camino por recorrer en este paseito del "card making" a mis tres botones, (que debian de ser cuatro, pero no "me latio") no les puse hilo ni nada en los ojalitos, y si le hubiera puesto algo, un boton o un brillito algo  a la flor en el centro se hubiera visto mucho mejor!! Bueno, ya para la proxima!! Por lo pronto yo me siento muy contenta con las tarjetas, ya se ven mejor, no??
A lo que sigue!!!

La segunda tarjeta es para Clean & Simple FTL84  aca esta el sketch:

Y esta es mi interpretacion:

esta bien, esta bien, lo reconozco esto un poquito obsesionada con raspberry fizz y aqua mist, pero quien puede culparme, se ven tan lindos juntos!! Aunque en esta tarjeta ya al terminar pense que mejor hubiera usado el color Hawaian Shores en vez del aqua, hubiera sido mas vibrante, en la noche que se duerman los gordos averiguo!!! Aca utlize el set polka dots basics, dos tamanos, los grandes raspberry y los chiquitos en un como khaki no me acuerdo la marca, la flor es la flor mas grande de delightful dahlia, y la frase es del mismo set, las escalopas las corte con uno de los nuevos troqueles de EK success, acaban de salir 78 nuevos troqueles!! Yo compre este y uno que es un ric rac. Me gusto mucho, sobre todo el detalle de los punticos en las escalopas!!
