Some Valentines!

Happy Valentine's day!
Such a nice day to remind the ones that make our lives special that they are loved and cherished!
I didn't have time to take pics of all my Valentine's but I have the one for my two older kiddos! (my 2 y.o. is not yet ready to be the recipient of a card, as she is a "paper gourmet" :) )
First the one for my darling daughter, she is 11 years old, and truly amazing, every single day I am surprised that that amazing human being came out of me! She is a kind, loving, caring, fashiony, opera lover, writer wannabe incredible little girl! I love her to pieces, God  certainly knew what He was doing,  when He send her to be my first, it just made me want a lot more kiddos!

Simple and to point!

Then comes my 5 y.o. boy; oh boy, that is a boy!, rocker, magician, musician who writes songs for "girls with yellow hair" sweet as can be, every single day amazes me with his imagination, his strength, how loving he is with his sisters. An incredible boy, God has put some obstacles in his way, but that has only made him show what he is really made of! A fighter that's my guy! A real hero!

He is a big fan of Krypto and Underdog, and this darling doggy kind of resembles them!

The one for my husband, is on his lunch bag, I just finished it last night and there was not enough light to take a good picture of it. When he comes back home I will try and take a good pic of it to show it to you!!

Little musical birdie..

I have been having fun with my new PTI goodies, this little cutie beg to be die cutted in felt! I have seen so many little birdies in felt lately that I had to try it!
The new musical background is just great! I am in love, now I NEED the impression plate too!
I used one of the Clean Simple Sketches, #123, great inspiration!

PTI January Blog Hop

It's time for another PTI Blog Hop! This time we are challenged to use our "less loved" stamp sets. I don't have that many sets, and I try to use them as I get them, but the ones that seem to "escape" from me, are the Fillable Frame series! I love them dearly, and I always get them, but I do not use them as often as I should!
So this time I have a card featuring the first fillable frame in the series with a sentiment from the number 8 in the series.  I also used SOME (I love to "collect it") of my patterned paper, and I went with a color that is totally hard for me to work with, purple! SO it's a triple challenge for me!

Moxie Fab-Bright and Bold

I finally got PTI's Dot Spot stamp set and I was itching to  try it when I found this color combo at the Moxie Fab blog and that was just the perfect inspiration for my new set!

A real challenge!

That is to be able to update my blog! Finally after a long while and a bit of stuff happening in our lives, I am able to update. I love the brightness of the last Tuesday Trigger

 

During my time of "inactivity" at least in the crafty side, I did browse trough many of my favorite blogs, and I found this gorgeous card by the very talented Laurie; I immediately tried to buy that die, but it's out of stock! So did some more browsing and found this tutorial, and I gave it a try. I like the results, but I think I still need the die, because my spiral was a bit off!

Good morning glories...

I loved this set since I saw it, the flowers are gorgeous, and the sentiments are  awesome!! Since I am not good at coloring I decided to stamp the image in PP, I kind of liked it!
Some more of that gorgeous Life Stories paper b MME and I got a very quick card!

I am trapped!

Now that I can make a bow, I am looking at my ribbon stash with a newfound love, of course I have ribbon. I craft, therefore I have ribbon, and bunches and bunches of it, mostly acquired during the scrapbooking frenzy of 2000 and something when we used to put ribbon with staples in every single LO, so ribbon is here, neglected, unloved, but here. But now I am giving him (it is a him, our relationship proves it) a second chance, let's see how it goes. I found this little spool, and decided to start with him. this is the result, I am happy to let you know that no ribbon was damaged in the making of this bow and I am happy with the results!!

I love this paper, I went to Michaels to use one the the gift cards I got for turning 40, to get the mythical ATG gun, and saw this lonely pad of  PP is called Life Stories from MME and is on kraft!!! How did I missed that one?? So I inmediatly put it to good use, or at least that's what I hope!!

Of bows and ribbon.....

So I am not a big ribbon user, I confess to that. I really like look to stamping/scrapbooking like my relax time, but making bows is not relaxing for me, or at least it wasn't. I watched this video from Dawn McVey, which really helped me with "making" part and then I bought Papertrey Ink Twill, and WOW what a match!!
So here is the first card I made using my new learned skills and my new twill.....

A style....

I have been stamping for some time now, and the hardest thing has proved to be "to find a style" I keep looking at blogs and admiring their work, use them as inspiration, but so far no style! I love to look at Nichole Heady's blog, she is awesome; I simply adore Betsy Vedman's creations, so subtle and shabby, and I go nuts over Maile Belles blog with all that CAS beauties! And if you notice they are all different styles, so no style for this Mexican girl!!
 During my philosophical quest for a stamping "me" (very different from a wii, mii) my strategy has been to be "inspired by" what means, I try to not blatantly steal someones creation but to use it as a beginning point, it's working so far, maybe one day I can fly solo!!!

So here are my creations, each one an ode to the ladies whose unknown work (at least to them) is to be my muse!!

Un nuevo reto...

This week was my turn to post a Challenge in Papertrey Chicks, it had to be a layout. It was very hard, but finally I was able to make one in the computer, it is not real good, but I will learn with time. For my layout I made 2 cards, the one in PTI Chicks was the second, this was the first one, I liked the second better, but it came from this one, so I though I share how it developed!!

Un nuevo reto...2S4Y60

Al menos para mi; al ver este sketch no pude mas que pensar en los nuevos papeles que compre, esos colores me hacen pensar en un dia fresco de verano, y este sketch de 2 Sketches for You me parecio perfecto para ellos!!!

Como nina con juguete nuevo...

Despues de ver tantos blogs esta semana, me quede con las ganas de comprar un monton de cosas!! Asi que el lunes empaque a mi tropa, y me fui a Archiver's a ver que encontraba, y algunas cositas se me pegaron!!

He visto estos papeles de October Afternoon, y si se ven lindos en los blogs en vivo, son preciosos, lo unico malo es que Archiver's solo los maneja en 12x12 y me hubieran gustado mas en 8x8, aun asi los compre porque estan divinos! Y luego luego me agarraron en la entrada con estos papeles de Echo Park, a poco no estan lindos? Me encantan los papeles de Halloween, a ver si les puedo hacer los honores, porque el problema de todos estos papeles es que estan tan lindos que me gustan mas para verlos que para cortarlos!!!!!

Luego en el blog de mi compatriota Mariana Grigsby vi esta tarjeta, y a mi me encantan los peregrinos, asi que tuve que comprarla!!

En fin que despues de tanta compra con toda "mi tropa"  termine agotada, gastada y aprendi cosas nuevas: -Que a los varones de 5 1/2 a*os no les importa nada la tarjeteria y que Archiver's no es su tienda favorita. A menos que puedan correr en ella.
-Que a las nenas de 1 1/2 les FASCINA la tarjeteria, sobre todo lo que sea posible llevarse a la boca,
-que las nenas de 1 1/2 son rapidisimas para sacar hojas de 12*12 de los anaqueles, pero super rapidisimas,
-y que antes de salir de una tienda hay que buscarles hasta por debajo para ver que sale!!!
-Y finalmente que las nenas de 10 1/2  tienen las ideas mas locas pero mas divertidas!!!

Y despues de tanto aprendizaje, quede cansadisima para hacer nada, pero como habia comprado tanto, algo tenia que hacer para justificar la compra, asi que aqui esta una tarjetica con el liston que recien compre:

WOW...

Seis dias seguidos de postear, unico para mi, y luego para cerrar con broche de oro la semana, una de mis  tarjetas fue escogida para el reto del viernes de Cards Blog!!!!  Una semana perfecta!
 Y para terminarla bien aca tengo otra tarjeta, esta es usando mi nuevo set de PTI, Take Three: Fall, me gusto mucho el set, pero me costo trabajo hacer esta tarjeta, nada se me ocurria, hasta que al fin salio esta.

Y como decia un conocido mexicano...aun hay mas

Yo le sigo con las florecitas, porque una vez que le pierde una el miedo a algo, se lanza, no?
 Asi que aqui esta otra tarjeta con YOF esta vez daffodils (que en espanol se llaman Narcisos, segun yo) y una vez mas tire todo por la borda, con fieltro, mecatito, punches...en fin lo que pude meterle le meti, je. Esta combinacion de aqua con rojo me gusta, me gusta un buen!

Mas flores..

Finalmente me decidi a adquirir algunos set de "Year of Flowers" de PTI, la verdad me intimidaban un poco por aquello de colorearlos, pero no siempre tiene una que colorearlos, no creen?
Esta tarjeta la hice basada en una de Betsy Veldman, que fue la que finalmente me hizo comprar los sets, se vei tan linda!! En cuanto encuentre el post se los comparto!
Yo la tome como inspiracion y esto es lo que me salio:

Con perlitas, liston y toda la cosa, definitivamente fuera de mi area de comfort, pero la verdad estoy muy contenta con el resultado final!

Embellish this challenge!

I saw this challenge:

...and immediatly thought of my new set Tiny Treats: Halloween!! So I went to work and this is the result:

I left it without a sentiment, so it could be used as a tag or a mini card, I loved the color combo and oh boy, I went to the inchie website and I believe a trip to my LSS is in order, I need to get me some of those inchie tiles, they look so fun, who knew you could really go to town with just one inch of paper??
